Mario Monterosso is a unique musician.
I don’t know many here in Italy who can live, soak up, produce, compose and create music like he does. He plays the blues like few musicians play it because he’s got it in his blood and can make it pulse and feel modern.
The first reaction I had when I met Mario was to want him as a friend. Then I got to know him as a musician and I wanted him by my side. Because playing with him feels so good and right. One’s enraptured by the way he makes notes vibrate and his perfect and unexpected solos. I still marvel at how he effortlessly shifts from rural blues to urban blues, from country hillbilly to rock and roll, from jazz to rock blues. I always discover new secrets when I hear him play. And when we perform together not only it’s fun but I never cease falling in love with music. Thank you, Redmount.
But he does have a major flaw: he’s way too humble.
